5 NECESSITIES OF A HEALTHY FRIENDSHIP/RELATIONSHIP

Good friendships/relationships don’t magically happen. They are developed over time.

Have you ever met and spent time with someone who you connected and had chemistry with? But for one reason or another, it did not work out. I have! This has happened to me in platonic and romantic relationships, even with male acquaintances I thought would make cool friends. Unfortunately, there was always something that kept us from getting any closer.
I want to share five necessary things to form and maintain a close friendship/relationship. These five things are necessary for romantic relationships, too.

  1. Communication – Strive for good and open communication
  2. Concern – Care for each other emotionally, mentally, and physically
  3. Effort – Match your partner’s effort put into the relationship
  4. Boundaries – Respect each other’s boundaries
  5. Trust – Be honest and reliable

Are there any things that you would add to this list?

    1. Thank you for stopping by Teresa! I appreciate it! You’re absolutely right! Without trust you don’t have anything! Some people lie so much you don’t know what the truth is anymore. They even begin to deceive themselves.

  1. Thank you, April! I appreciate you stopping by! You’re right. Talk even when things don’t go right. Much communication in non-verbal. When things are not well between the two, I highly suggest no texting!

  2. Awesome post! Definitely #1 you have to have complete communication even the nonverbal communication. It’s not about discussing every flaw about a person or things you don’t like but expectations or desires and even if it’s a misconception! Love this! Thanks Rodney
